New kennel
s for the Marlboro County Animal Shelter have arrived and were installed in November! The Humane Society of Marlboro County was awarded a grant last year from the #ASPCA for $25,000 for improvements at the Marlboro County Shelter to improve cleaning time and help lower the spread of disease. It has taken a long time to get our order coordinated, manufactured and delivered but they have arrived finally here! These new kennels replaced the sides and floors of the old chain link kennels at the Marlboro County Shelter.
We also used a portion of the grant funds to renovate our main cat room with new washable walls and an epoxy floor.
*The Humane Society of Marlboro County does not operate the Marlboro County Shelter. However, we do network and transport 1200 cats and dogs per year to rescue partners, provide medical care including surgery for all county/city shelter animals, provide medication for all shelter animals, our volunteers entirely care for the cat room and assist with extra cleaning on weekends, collect food donations for shelter animals.
